Role Overview

We are seeking a talented and innovative Senior Medical Device Engineer to join the product development team, assist with the R&D and design of new products, as well as maintaining the product life cycle of existing products. Reporting to the Chief Technical Officer, you will play a key role in developing new technologies within GSP, translating them from proof-of-concept to commercial products. You will thrive in taking a systematic and methodical, test-driven approach to solving problems to ensure future product success.

Key Responsibilities

● Design and development of phantoms for medical imaging from concept through to commercial products.

● Test, evaluate, verify and validate technologies, products, and processes.

● Adherence to quality management, including design controls.

● Making measurements and analysing data.

● Work with external manufacturing partners and other suppliers.

The person we are seeking

● Has experience in product design and development.

● Technical knowledge of 3D CAD software, ideally Autodesk Fusion 360.

● Experience in compiling technical documentation that demonstrate products meet the relevant regulatory requirements and standards.

● Excellent problem-solving skills.

● Organised and a keen attention to detail.

● A willingness to learn new skills.

● Ability to work as part of a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team.

● Excellent communication skills.

● Previous experience providing an understanding of the technical and regulatory aspects of medical device development, and having worked within a relevant quality management system such as ISO 9001 or ISO 13485 would provide a distinct advantage.

What does GSP offer you?

● Salary of £40,000 to £50,000, commensurate with experience.

● Full-time permanent position with 25 days annual leave + bank holidays.

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week.

Location: On-site in Sheffield (Heeley area), South Yorkshire, with the potential of remote working some days of the week.

Probationary period: three months
